God Is Good

This week was filled with eventful things! Sister Castagno and I met several families that want us to go back and teach them. We're pretty busy, but we find different ways to keep laughing and smiling. While we're out tracting or walking to an appointment we'll blow bubbles, or catch frogs, and tell each other stories of silly things we did when we were little.
Lee didn't come to church on Sunday. His aunt was supposed to give him a ride to Tupelo but she never showed up. So, that was a bit of a bummer, but! Alas, we shall not give up!
We also went over to Bernita's and were helping her make dinner. We were having a ball peeling potatoes and learning how Bernita can throw down, when her brother walked through the door. Oh man he's a character. He asked us if we were the Mormons, we said the affirmative and then he asked us a bunch of questions like if black people were allowed to attend the Mormon church etc. He asked us if Mormon girls were allowed to date black guys and Sister Castagno said "Oh sure! Come to our church, you'll find yourself a nice Mormon girl." He quickly responded, "I was thinkin' I could have you." Bernita turned around and yelled "Get out! She's only 19! They're both 19! Babies!" Oh man it was so funny! We're glad Bernita said something cuz we sure didn't know what to say or do. There was a sweet little girl that prayed over our food after it was prepared and set on the table and she said "God is great, God is good, thank you for this delicious food. Amen."
We also visited a United Methodist church for a Bible study with an investigator of ours named Felicia. It was just another event that solidified our testimonies that this is the only true church, and we are truly blessed to have it. But, it was fun to be surrounded by good people that know and love their Jesus and sing gospel songs.
I am so very grateful for this opportunity to be here in Amory. I continue to learn and grow every day and so does my testimony. I love this work and I hope ya'll know that you are loved and prayed for daily and I want to thank ya'll for your prayers as well. Love ya'll!

Transfer Calls and Baptismal Dates

Well Hey Ya'll!
What a week we've had! Things have been pretty crazy here in good ole Mi'sippi!
We had our Railroad Festival, tried some Apple Fritters and gained 10 pounds. And we had our Stake Conference. President Hanks and his wife were able to be there- that was wonderful! And we got to hear from Elder Tony Parker from the Quorum of the 70. He was awesome! It felt like a Mormon gospel preacher was teaching us how to come unto Christ! Awesome!
We also received our transfer calls and.....We're staying in Amory for another glorious transfer!! Whooo!
Well, Sister Castagno and I have been meeting with a man named Lee, and he is so solid! We've gone over to his apartment, sat on his front porch and read the Book of Mormon with him for a good bit now and he says he loves it! He knows that this book is true and has accepted the invitation to be baptized! We've set his baptismal date for April 26th so if ya'll could please keep him in your prayers Sister Castagno and I and he would really appreciate it. He doesn't have a car or a phone so transportation to church, especially all the way out in Tupelo is a bit rough, but we know that with God all things are possible!
I hope that ya'll know you're amazing and that all is well in Zion! I love each of you and feel your love and prayers with me every day! Thank you for sticking with me, the Lord will bless you and ya'll will be in my heart for time and all eternity! Have a blessed week!

Who Is Your Hero?

Well hey ya'll!!
Man, this past week was just wonderful! We had Easter and General Conference and got to listen to our beloved Prophet and Apostles.
I had a lot of questions and concerns answered and quieted by the different talks given on Saturday and Sunday which was a true answer to my prayers. I especially loved Henry B. Eyring, Jeffrey R. Holland and Rosemary M. Wixom. I loved them all, and am very excited to re-read them again in the Ensign.
This past week was very busy which was very good! We spent the weekend in Tupelo for Conference and Easter, but on Friday morning we had District Meeting. We all brought our favorite pictures of the Savior, talked about why we liked that picture, why we love the Savior and our favorite scripture from the Savior. One of my favorite scriptures given to us by the Savior is John 16: 33
"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." That verse has always brought so much comfort to me. In one of our previous District Meetings we were all asked who our favorite super hero was. It was simply a get to know you question, so everyone answered either Spider-man, Batman etc. I couldn't help but say Emma Smith as one of my personal heroes. But at the end of the meeting we talked about who our true hero should be, the Savior. I had never thought of it that way. He truly is a super hero. We will never be able to comprehend what He did for us, but I do know that He loves us. He truly loves us so unconditionally that He gave His life for us. This world will always bring us trials, heartache, physical, mental, and emotional pains of every kind and He knows what all of that feels like for all of us. I know that ya'll have heard this time and time again, because I have too. But this past Easter Sunday with the messages shared at General Conference I was able to better feel His love for me and for all of us. He is my hero and always will be. I can never repay Him for what He did, but I can do what He asks me to do, and I will do whatever He asks me to do because I love Him. And I know that He loves me and every single one of you. If the world tells you that you are alone or even makes you feel alone, we don't need to worry He has overcome the world.
I love you all so very much. Have a blessed week

There Can Be Miracles

Hey Ya'll!

This week is obviously Easter and I am so very very excited! I hope that ya'll take the time to remember and thank the Savior for being willing to give His life so that we can live and be with our families for eternity.
This week the Tupelo Sisters gave us a vision. A vision is randomly picturing someone in your head and looking for that person. They gave us the vision of a middle aged man who was open to reading the Book of Mormon. We didn't find him immediately, it actually took a couple of days, but we did find him. His name's Truman. We were store contacting at Walmart when we were walking past all the hunting gear and such and we saw a guy looking at some hammocks. So, we stopped and talked to him. Truman just recently had a really bad accident that has caused some difficulties in his life. He doesn't have a place to stay so he's living in his car. He didn't have a lot of money and was trying to decide if he would be able to purchase a hammock so he would have something to sleep on. We felt compelled to purchase this hammock for him and because we did he became more open to hearing what we know to be true and we'll be visiting with him again this week.
I know that if we put our trust in the Lord and diligently look for His children that so desperately need what we have to share that we will find them and we will see miracles.
I hope ya'll have a blessed week.
Much love, Sister Mason
