God Is Good

This week was filled with eventful things! Sister Castagno and I met several families that want us to go back and teach them. We're pretty busy, but we find different ways to keep laughing and smiling. While we're out tracting or walking to an appointment we'll blow bubbles, or catch frogs, and tell each other stories of silly things we did when we were little.
Lee didn't come to church on Sunday. His aunt was supposed to give him a ride to Tupelo but she never showed up. So, that was a bit of a bummer, but! Alas, we shall not give up!
We also went over to Bernita's and were helping her make dinner. We were having a ball peeling potatoes and learning how Bernita can throw down, when her brother walked through the door. Oh man he's a character. He asked us if we were the Mormons, we said the affirmative and then he asked us a bunch of questions like if black people were allowed to attend the Mormon church etc. He asked us if Mormon girls were allowed to date black guys and Sister Castagno said "Oh sure! Come to our church, you'll find yourself a nice Mormon girl." He quickly responded, "I was thinkin' I could have you." Bernita turned around and yelled "Get out! She's only 19! They're both 19! Babies!" Oh man it was so funny! We're glad Bernita said something cuz we sure didn't know what to say or do. There was a sweet little girl that prayed over our food after it was prepared and set on the table and she said "God is great, God is good, thank you for this delicious food. Amen."
We also visited a United Methodist church for a Bible study with an investigator of ours named Felicia. It was just another event that solidified our testimonies that this is the only true church, and we are truly blessed to have it. But, it was fun to be surrounded by good people that know and love their Jesus and sing gospel songs.
I am so very grateful for this opportunity to be here in Amory. I continue to learn and grow every day and so does my testimony. I love this work and I hope ya'll know that you are loved and prayed for daily and I want to thank ya'll for your prayers as well. Love ya'll!
Love, Sister Michaela Mason
